Experiences Matter! What stayed with me after Morocco

I recently went on an amazing trip to Morocco with my partner Dimitris.

Marrakech’s vibrant markets, the Sahara desert’s dunes, and Atlas mountain villages left me in awe. (Click to see some pictures from our trip!)

This trip was extra special. I’ve been wanting to visit Morocco for years. And since I was a kid, I’ve dreamed of seeing the desert and riding camels. Getting to finally go felt really meaningful after thinking about it for so long.

During our trip, I kept thinking about how much experiences matter. Not the price tag, but the people you share them with and the memories you make.

Research in positive psychology shows that spending on meaningful moments lifts our mood long after the trip ends.

So, from a well-being perspective, it makes sense to prioritize experiences, rather than accumulating stuff.

That doesn’t mean things don’t bring joy too. I brought home some beautiful ceramics that I’m very excited about.

But when it comes to long-term well-being, experiences tend to leave a deeper impact.

So next time you’re wondering how to use your budget, I invite you to include an experience.

I invite you to pick one small and new experience for the weekend. It can cost little or nothing at all.

Maybe explore a new neighborhood in your city. Or find a quiet spot for a picnic. Or walk a trail you’ve never tried.

Then let yourself really enjoy that experience. By yourself or share it with someone else.

What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts if you feel like sharing. Feel free email me or DM me on Instagram. My inbox and DMs are always open!

I also invite you to sign up for my FREE newsletter to receive well-being inspiration, resources, special offers and occasional gifts 2-3 times per month.
